Ex-Gratia Grant is paid to the next of kin of the person who suffered loss of life due to 12 notified calamities under SDRF norms namely cyclone, drought, earthquake, fire, flood tsunami, hailstorm, landslide, avalanche, cloud burst, pest attack, frost & cold wave. Besides, as per the notification of State Specific Disasters vide No – 2120-DMCD/ 2025, Dated - 25.08.2025 this grant is also provided to the next of kins of the victims who lost their life due to  lightening, accidental fire, drowning due to natural calamity/accidental drowning, boat capsize, tornado / thunderstorm, death due to poisonous animal bite, heat wave, electrocution, fall of tree, wild animal attack, structure / house / wall collapse, river and coastal erosion, forest fire and heavy rainfall.
